On a Stationary Approach to Scattering Problem

Here, T(^p) denote^ the trace class of completely continuous operators in § and p(Hp) the resolvent set of Hp. The perturbation theory of absolutely continuous (abbr. a.c.) parts of Hp as well as the theory of wave and scattering operators has recently been studied independently by de Branges [2], Birman and Kreïn [ l ] , and Kato [3], In [ l ] and [3] the problem was considered from the viewpo...

Nonlinear Stationary Subdivision

In this paper we study a concrete interpolatory subdivision scheme based on rational interpolation and show that it preserves convexity. §

Transition from transient to stationary behavior in stimulated Raman scattering

The transition between the transient and the stationary regimes of stimulated Raman scattering is examined computationally for pulses with a sharp initial rise. We find that the transient-regime predictions are useful for times less than T2 regardless of the pulse duration and that the stationary-regime predictions become useful only for times much greater than T2 . © 1996 Optical Society of Am...

Localized modes and bistable scattering in nonlinear network junctions.

We study the properties of junctions created by the crossing of N identical branches of linear discrete networks. We reveal that for N>2 such a junction creates a topological defect and supports two types of spatially localized modes. We analyze the wave scattering by the junction defect and demonstrate nonzero reflection for any set of parameters. If the junction is nonlinear, it is possible t...
